1. Lexus RC 300

The Lexus RC300 is a sports coupe with rear or all-wheel drive mode. It is powered by a 2.0-liter 241-horsepower turbo engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic or 6-speed with all-wheel drive. In the latter, the RC300 comes with a 260-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine.

The Lexus RC 300 all-wheel-drive can do 60 mph in 6.3 seconds with the V6 engine.

The fuel economy is 25 mpg combined for the RC300.

The Lexus RC 300 is one of the few cars with CD Players (from 2021).

Among the features is a 10-speaker audio system with a CD player. The RC300 also features power-adjustable synthetic leather seats, a 7.0-inch display with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration.

Safety features include blind-spot monitors and automatic emergency braking.

2. Nissan Rogue Sport S

The Nissan Rogue Sport S is a compact all-wheel-drive crossover SUV.

The standard engine for the is a 2.0-liter 141-horsepower mated to a Continuously Variable transmission. The drivetrain is a front- or optional all-wheel drive.

Fuel efficiency is 25 mpg in the city and 32 on the highway.

3. Nissan Maxima S, SL, SR, SV, and Platinum

The Nissan Maxima is a fast and responsive luxury sedan powered by a 3.5-liter 300-horsepower engine linked with an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission. The Maxima is a front-wheel drive.

The SR trim includes paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.

The 2021 Nissan Maxima is among the dying breed of cars with CD players (from 2021). 

The Maxima features an 8-speaker AM/FM audio system with a single-disc CD player.

The entry-level SV trim rides on 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, daytime running lights, keyless entry/ignition, and comes with dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise, 8-inch touch screen, navigation, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

The SR trim comes with a sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch alloys, heated and ventilated front seats, and an 11-speaker Bose audio system.

4. Lexus UX 250h Base

The Lexus UX is a sub-compact SUV from the Lexus stable.

It rides on big 18-inch alloys.

The power for the UX comes from a 169-horsepower 2.0-liter engine, or with a plug-in hybrid combination to give a total output of 181 horsepower. The hybrid works with an all-wheel-drive system.

The hybrid works with a Continuously Variable Transmission.

Of interest with the UX are the features. It includes a CD player, making it one of the few cars with a CD player (from 2021). 

Other features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

5. Mitsubishi Mirage G4 SE 

The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is a basic and affordable run-around car. The focus is on affordability and efficiency, which means you should not expect much in terms of the driving experience and comfort.

However, the Mirage is surprisingly loaded with modern amenities. 

The Mirage is offered in four trims, all powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a small output of 76 horsepower. Transmission is a 5-speed manual for the base ES trim.

The rest of the trims use a Continuously Variable Transmission. 

However, if you still want to play your CDs, the Mirage is one of the cars with CD players (from 2021).

This is offered as a standard CD/MP3 player on the top SE trim, and an in-dash CD Player option on the LE trim.

The ES trim comes with remote keyless entry, automatic climate control, a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 14-inch steel wheels, and forward collision mitigation.

The LE trim upgrades to 15-inch alloys.

The top trim SE includes heated front seats, proximity keyless entry, and a CD/MP3 player.

6. Subaru Impreza 

The Subaru Impreza comes with a standard all-wheel drive, 5-speed manual transmission, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto integration, a 6.5-inch touch screen for the entry-level trim, powered by a 152-horsepower 2.0-liter engine.

Fuel economy in city/highway driving is 23/31 mpg with the manual transmission on the sedan, 24/31 mpg with the manual hatchback, 28/36 mpg with automatic, and 27/36 mpg with the automatic Sport sedan.

The Subaru Impreza is one of the cars with CD players (from 2021). The Premium trim, powered by the 2.0-liter engine, features 6-speaker audio with a CD Player. 

The Sport and Limited trims have an 8-inch display. The Limited trim also features leather upholstery.

Factory options for the Sport trim include 18-inch alloys, a sport-tuned suspension, and red seat stitching on the seats.

The Limited has options of blind-spot monitoring, keyless entry/ignition, LED headlights, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

7. Ford Fusion 

The 2021 Ford Fusion infotainment system is conservative, featuring a simple stereo AM/FM with a CD player, with a basic version of the SYNC, including a simple 4.2-inch LCD screen for the base S and SE, trims.

It remains of the few and depleting cars with CD players (from 2021).

However, the top trims come with modern infotainment systems, including SYNC3 that incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Ford Fusion’s standard engine is a 175-horsepower 2.5-liter engine connected to a 6-speed automatic, in a front-wheel-drive setup.

The 2.5-liter engine returns fuel economy figures of 26 mpg on the highway.

Also available is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an output of 181 horsepower, which comes with the SE and SEL trims.

Some notable features for the S trim include the CD player with 4 speakers, lane-keeping, and pre=collision assist. The SE adds dual-zone climate control and a CD player with 6 speakers.

8. Lexus NX 300h

The Lexus NX 300h is the hybrid version of the Lexus NX 300. It is a compact crossover SUV. It is one of the few, (and another Lexus) cars with CD players (from 2021).  

The NX 300h’s stereo features a CD player.

Power for the NX 300h comes from a 2.5-liter engine that drives the wheels. It also has a battery pack that supplies electric motors that can also drive the wheels.

The combination allows the NX 300h to achieve a fuel economy of 33 mpg in city driving. In the city with slow driving below 25 mph, electric motors do the work. The gasoline engine kicks in when the speed goes beyond 25 mph.

For those who still have their old CDs, the Lexus NX 300h would be nice to have.

Why Do So Few Cars Have CD Players?

Few cars have CD Players because new ways to store and play music have been developed.

What is Used Instead of CD Players in New Cars?

CD Players have been replaced by new storage and connectivity devices. Music is now stored on portable USB devices and smartphones.

Smartphones can be connected through Bluetooth.

Streaming devices such as Spotify and Apple are increasingly being used instead of CD players.
